Preliminary Study and Special Plan for Forest Exploitation with Complementary Uses - School of Forest Trades and Accommodation of Temporary Workers in Paraje del Panedes, Llagostera, Gerona. Spain

The preliminary study is based on the POUM of Llagostera, which establishes the building conditions and the uses allowed on the plot and aims to take advantage of its potential as sustainable forest exploitation.
To develop the activity proposal, it is expected to collaborate with a local Forestry company. We propose to sustainably exploit the resources of the forest, implementing a model facility, which includes a forestry school, in addition to the accommodation needed by temporary workers, the log collection areas, pre-processed wood and areas with outdoor machinery.
As design references, sustainable forest holdings, prefabricated and / or demountable wooden constructions and cabins with spatial characteristics from the point of view of environmental impact, sustainability and integration into the landscape have been studied.
The proposal tries to give an efficient and sustainable response to the resources, limitations and opportunities of the place, implementing a forestry exploitation point with an eco-design vision incorporating as well, a school of forest trades and the temporary accommodation necessary for its operation.
