Mosque in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona. Draft and detailed execution project

The purpose of this basic and detailed execution project is the construction of an Islamic worship center (mosque), with prayer rooms and annex spaces, on a plot located on Avenida Europa.
The main use of the mosque is ritual prayer, carried out in different spaces, some separated for men and women and adaptable (compartmental) to accommodate more or fewer users (congregation) at various times of the day or on religious calendar holidays. In addition, the mosque has spaces for complementary uses such as classrooms for the madrasa (school) and multipurpose spaces that will mainly serve as meeting places for the local community.

The global concept of the building is functional (a set of prayer rooms, open-plan, interconnected spaces, triple height, filtered natural light entering, compartmentalized spaces) and volumetric (a box wrapped in ceramic latticework, looking towards the square through the filter visual and climatic of the façade).
