Edison Hall – Multipurpose building (rehabilitation and expansion) Shopping, cultural and residential, restaurant and leisure center
Located in the center of the city, 50m from the Rambla, Edison Hall was the first cinema in the city, opened in 1905. It is a building of historical interest, listed as BCIL, which is located disused for years, a fact that endangers heritage conservation.
Edison Hall (Sala Edison) is an important urban reference. Its recovery with uses of public interest: commerce, culture, tourism, leisure and/or restaurants will contribute to activating commerce and promoting culture in the city center.
The initial project to refurbish and extend the old movie theater proposes a program of uses and volumetrics (utilization parameters) that reflect the importance of the site, the historic building and its visual integration in the central cityscape of Figueres.
