Jardins de Peralada Auditorium – new venue for the Castell de Peralada International Festival. Detailed execution Project

The aim of the design project is building an auditorium in the Peralada Castle gardens, where the Castell de Peralada International Music Festival has been held annually (for 35 years), using removable structures for the stage and stalls.

The architectural concept is based on a vision of landscape, functional and environmental integration with the gardens of the Castle. The current auditorium is an outdoor amphitheater, surrounded by trees, and the gardens are its natural extension.

The building is an open-air auditorium, with a maximum capacity of 1,600 seats, designed to host large-scale opera, dance, concerts, and other cultural and/or recreational events.
It is organized into three areas or bulidings, and the volumetry reflects this distinction: open stalls, stage box and backstage building.
The public enters through the gardens, which make up a large open foyer, with meeting areas. Ramps and stairs take the public to their seats. The space below the stalls is used to locate the services (toilets for the public, facilities, storage) and a multipurpose hall (optionally the Festival museum).
