Quart Urban Plan. Quart, Girona. Spain

For the new comprehensive urban plan of Quart, we developed an analysis of the municipality regarding different topics such as: history and general information, current planning, existing settlements, infrastructure, water system, land uses, natural and organic values and itineraries.

Consequently we developed a landscape study which helped us to find the 4 existing landscape units: 1.forest landscape, 2.agricultural landscape, 3. water landscape and 4. urban landscape. We analyzed also different landscape values as well as landscape dynamics explaining current or recent processes that have given rise to its transformation.
Finally we were able to raise a diagnosis of critical points and propose a methodology based on: prescriptions of the own territorial plan, urban microsurgery, municipal mobility, sustainable planning, preservation of open space systems, promotion of activities in open spaces and in unbuildable areas and a touristic diagnosis.
