Arbreda Underground Public Car Park, Palamós
The aim of the project is to assess the feasibility of constructing an underground car park to replace the existing street-level parking area in the Arbreda zone, in the center of Palamós.
The underground car park is designed to allow the public space to function as a town square.
The adopted solution provides for a total of 396 parking spaces distributed in two underground floors. The footprint of the facility roughly corresponds to that of the former football pitch, ensuring the preservation of the trees along the perimeter.
All existing trees within the park and along the perimeter of the square are preserved. Furthermore, a 1.50-meter layer of soil is to be placed over the car park's roof slab, enabling a wide range of uses for the future square and allowing for the planting of new trees.
