Oued Chbika Masterplan, Morocco

The main challenge of the project is to create a city with a tourist vocation. A mix of old and new.
To meet the challenge of the desert, the project covers a larger area than the city. Therefore, we propose to create dunes around the resort, like green walls, forming a semicircle to protect the city, while creating a microclimate.
The resort includes an old town, composed mainly of pedestrian areas, with winding streets, commercial spaces in the form of traditional markets, courtyards and green spaces, housing and hotels. We recreate an old town, with its urban spaces for relationships, commerce, leisure and private spaces for family and personal life, major themes of Arab culture.
The emotional and entertaining experience, aimed at audiences of all ages and cultures, takes place in the thematic space where pavilions and shops are located.
The craft area is an exact replica of a typical kasbah-style old town, but only on an aesthetic level, like a small neighborhood with traditional craft culture, a replica of an old Moroccan village.
The project also includes an organic garden, an area with high-rise modern buildings and a beach club on the ocean shore. All these spaces are served by a green avenue that starts from a palm grove.
