Redevelopment of the streets of the historic complex of Castell d’Aro

The street redevelopment proposal for the historic center (old town) of Castell d'Aro is a consensual project, a priority for the local community, whose first phase ended in 2004. By carrying out the redevelopment of the remaining streets, we managed to improve the quality of the public space, its accessibility and mobility throughout the historic urban complex of Castell d'Aro, heritage listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest (BCIN).

The project is part of the call for proposals for the revitalization of the historical heritage of the Next Generation funds.
The redevelopment action will facilitate visits (improving accessibility and mobility) and dignify the public space, as a place from which it is possible to contemplate, discover and enjoy the city, promoting its use as a place dedicated to social interaction.
Improving accessibility and promoting sustainable mobility are other aspects of action that contribute to social cohesion in the long term. The redevelopment project therefore has a character of direct social action.
