Multi-family housing buildings in Vinaròs, Castellón. Preliminary Study
The project proposes two separate identical buildings, each with 10 above-ground floors, a built roof area of 7,618m², and 60 residential units each.
The roof is flat, for shared use, with a swimming pool and a series of green spaces, designed as elevated gardens for exclusive use. This seeks not only to expand the available green space, but also to generate quality landscape experiences, promoting well-being and strengthening the link between architecture and nature in a privileged environment.
The key element of the design is the gallery, which is the most commonly used interior-exterior transition space in Mediterranean architecture. It is also an essential element of bioclimatic housing, as it naturally regulates the interior temperature and allows residents to enjoy the views and the balcony throughout the year. Galleries dignify the façade and add quality to the interior space. On a site such as Cantàbric Avenue in Vinaròs, with direct views of the beach, they also have another advantage: they are privileged viewpoints, both in summer and winter.
